How to run iGO8 on the 310

To run iGo 8 you need the PNA version, and you need to add the following to the sys.txt file in the application folder

[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
minzoom2D=40
show_exit=1
skin="ui_igo8"
resolution_dir="400_240"
vga=1

[rawdisplay]
class="landscape"
highres=1
screen_x=800
screen_y=480

Make sure the data.zip file has a 400_240 folder.

You can also choose to run it in 800x480 if you have 800_480 in the data.zip file.

[interface]
maxzoom2d=6000000
minzoom2D=40
show_exit=1
skin="ui_igo8"
resolution_dir="800_480"
vga=1

[rawdisplay]
class="landscape"
highres=0
screen_x=800
screen_y=480

Here is the solution to the dimming backlight problem when using igo8 versions newer than 8.0.290000:

You do not need this with newer versions like 8.3.xxxx. Try it before you make these changes, you may not need them.

1. Adjust the backlight for day and night to your liking using the Igo8 settings.

2. In the Control Panel, set the Backlight to turn off only after 30 minutes.

3. In system.ini that is located in the save folder, set the following parameter to "2":

[power]
powermgm_state="2"

4. Run Igo8, and the backlight problem will be gone.

5. Do NOT access the backlight setting in Igo8 UI. If you open that dialog you will need to repeat the steps above.

The above value tells Igo8 not to futz with the device backlight power mangement.
